Financial Services Guide

This Financial Services Guide contains important information that you should consider before deciding to use any of the services offered in this guide.

The purpose of this guide is to explain to you what financial services the Sisters of Mercy Staff Superannuation Scheme (SOMSSS) is authorised to provide and to assist you in deciding whether to use the services offered.

This guide also contains information about remuneration that may be paid to a SOMSSS representative who may provide you with advice and details of our complaints handling procedures and how you can access them.

Who will be responsible for the advice provided to you?

SOMSSS will provide the financial services offered in this guide. SOMSSS can provide these services in its role as an authorised representative of Independent Fund Administrators and Advisers Pty Ltd (IFAA).

IFAA is an Australian Financial Services licensee (AFSL 238507). The business is completely independent and not aligned with any other provider of administration or financial services.

What services are we authorised to provide to you?

SOMSSS is authorised to provide general financial product advice in relation to superannuation.

The advice provided by SOMSSS is of a general nature and does not take into account your individual financial situation, objectives or needs. Before acting on any advice you receive, you should consider the appropriateness of the advice, having regard for your own financial situation.

You should consider the information contained within the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) before making any decision to acquire the product.

SOMSSS Product Disclosure Statement

The SOMSSS Member's Booklet together with the Annual Report and the insert issued 4 March 2004 comprise the SOMSSS PDS. The PDS provides important information about the features, costs and benefits of investing your superannuation with SOMSSS. For a copy of the PDS, please contact SOMSSS Administration or visit the Scheme's website.

How are we remunerated for our services?

SOMSSS provide these financial services under IFAA's Australian Financial Services Licence. IFAA provide SOMSSS with administration software and financial accounting services. Neither SOMSSS nor IFAA are remunerated on a commission basis (nor are any of their staff). IFAA receives a fixed annual fee in return for the provision of the administration services.
